Good Girl Gone Bad

My goal in art is to convey the human behind every image. Rihanna is different. Rihanna controls her persona. Even her name, Robyn Rihanna Fenty carries a mystical dichotomy. She's said publicly "Robyn is who I am. Rihanna is an idea of who I am." I wanted her portrait to ask this question of identity more than give an answer. She's experienced a lot of turmoil and redefined herself many times. My interpretation? Courage, power, and mystery. But I think she's something different to every person. Hopefully this piece has similar effect on its audience.
